Stampin' Up Window Box candle card

Hi there,

Today I am taking part in the Pootles Birthday Club blog hop. I'm actually sneaking in a month early here, as my birthday is not until next month, but I have this lovely card that I made for my niece's birthday that I've been wanting to share and this seemed the perfect opportunity!

Window Box Thinlits dies from Stampin' Up!

I know this card will be a bit too clean and simple for some tastes but I love it - the simple design and all that white space - perfect! The little candle panel is actually made with a die from the "Window Box" set of dies, and is actually intended to be used on one of the sides of the box. The die cuts out the negative shape, so that I could then use one of our stitched shape framelits to cut out the whole panel. I then worked from the back, filling in the "holes" with tiny panels of coloured cardstock and gold card for the candle flames. Here is the complete set with the matching stamp set.

I haven't yet had time to use the dies to make the gorgeous hexagonal box but I think this card begins to show how versatile the set is.

On my card I've actually printed the greeting as I wanted to personalise the card but I've seen similar cards made using the "Happy Birthday" from the matching stamp set, which works well as well.

Hope you enjoy my card and hopping around the other blogs to see all the fabulous creations from our brilliant team of demonstrators.

Back soon,

Jill
