Hello again everyone,
Here we are again and it is already time for the second week of the Pootler's Design Team for May. This week I decided to use the stamp set - Butterfly Basics - with a sneak peek of some of the goodies which will be available in the new Annual Catalogue from 1st June. Every year Stampin' Up! introduces 5 new colours (known as "In Colors") which will only remain current for a two year period. My cards today each feature one of these colours.
Again, my cards are very clean and simple but its a look that I absolutely love. These cards make me so happy when I look at them.
I can't wait to send these cards and the reactions. Many of my friends have birthdays in June so for once I am really organised with cards for them!
So here is each card with its name. Which is your favourite? Berry Burst is mine at the moment, followed closely by Tranquil Tide.
So how did I make these cards?
I have used our notecards in whisper white and then layered on a mat (measuring 12cm x 8.3cm) of papers from a new paper stack called "Fresh Florals". This pack contains 40 sheets (yes, 40!) of double sided paper - 4 each of 2 double sided designs in the five In Colors. I then stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment (from the "Butterfly Basics" set - love those fonts!) in coordinating ink on whisper white and cut it out with one of our stitched ovals. Next, I stamped the small butterfly from the same set and punched it out. Sadly, the punch is no longer available but fussy cutting by hand would not be too tricky. I used our Tombow Liquid Glue to stick the butterfly to the oval. I only used the glue on the very middle of the butterfly so that the wings can be lifted up to give a bit of dimension to the card. Finally I added three little pearls to the body of the butterfly. Quick, easy and beautiful!!
Hope you like this project. I'll be back soon with more inspiration for the Butterfly Basics set. If you haven't bought it yet, I'm hoping I can persuade you it is a must have!
Back soon, Jill
