Magazine Style Storage Box for 6" x 6" patterned paper stacks Part 2

Hello again everyone,

I'm back today with the second part of my tutorial on how I made these fabulous storage boxes for my 6" x 6" paper stacks. Do pop back to yesterday's post if you missed it - in that I give all the instructions on how to construct the boxes. Today we are going to decorate them!

I used the lovely Bloom by Bloom stamp set to decorate my boxes. I am really loving this stamp set - the more I use it, the more ideas for projects I have. Click on the link at the bottom of the post if you'd like to see the set in more detail (and of course, if you'd like to buy it!)

This is the template you will need for the sides of the box.

And you will also need two other panels - one measuring 1 1/2" x 2 1/4" and the other measuring 1 1/2" x 5 7/8".

Here is the video showing how to do the stamping - just click HERE or on the image below:

Hope you have enjoyed this project. Would love it if you'd leave me a comment!

  1. Hi, i tried to make this today and because my scoreboard is a different male than yours, it has the measuring starting from the right, I had a lot of issues. However I followed the photos and finally managed to get the measurements rights. However, I think one of your scoring is wrong - the 5 1/2 on the second piece. It should be 2 3/4. When I tried to score at 5 1/2 it didn’t look the same as the photo. I have made a template, but not sure how to attach it here. Could you please check your second piece measurements and let us know if there is a mistake or not? I really love this storage box and would really want to make more of them. Thank you very much. PS I don’t mean to upset anyone, just really trying to ensure I get the right measurements. X

  2. Hi there,
Thanks for your interest and comments on my project. I think your problem might be because your scoreboard works the other way. Loads of people have let me know that they have followed my instructions and made these with no problems. The scoreline you refer to will be at 51/2" from the bottom of the piece but 2 3/4" from the top. Maybe you have the piece at the right orientation and you are measuring from the correct point. Hope that helps.
