Happy Birthday card to Gez - with Perennial essence papers

Hi everyone,

Hope you are having a great day! Last Wednesday it was the birthday of my very good friend, crafting buddy and Stampin' Up! team mate, the wonderful Gez, aka Nigezza Creates.

A couple of years ago Gez made this card for me for my birthday.

I absolutely loved it - such a clean and simple little card - just my style. And a great way to use up small pieces of patterned papers that you may have left over from other projects. I also love the use of that sentiment from the Lots of Happy kit - really says it all.

Anyway, for Gez's birthday card this year I decided to CASE her card (which means either "Copy and Share Everything" or "Copy and Selectively Edit").

Here is the card I sent Gez. I deliberately used Blackberry Bliss as I know that that is one of Gez's favourite colours from our range. And I also used the Perennial Essences Designer Series Paper as again I know this is one of Gez's favourites. I have to make a little confession here - I forgot to photograph the card before I sent it off - so the photo above is very kindly courtesy of Gez. I love the way she has used the same patterned paper as the background!

The Perennial essence has so many colours in it that is is possible to match it up with a whole load of our card stock colours. I decided to experiment with another couple of colour schemes.

For this one I used one of the darker papers with Bermuda Bay card stock and ink.

And then on the video, I made this one using one of the more pastel papers and Balmy Blue card stock and ink.

So many possibilities with this card layout. And so easy to make. See just how easy in my video tutorial by CLICKING HERE or on the image below.

Just in case you would like to make a similar card, the measurements for my little squares of patterned paper are 5cm square, with a 5.5cm mat of card stock. In Imperial that is 2" with a mat of 2 1/4". The central panel uses the second smallest stitched square from the Stitched Shapes die set, which measures 4.1cm square, or 1 5/8". The mat for that one is 4.6cm or 1 7/8".

Hope you like this project. And I really hope Gez liked her card and had a wonderful birthday!
