Handmade Sympathy Cards

Hello,

As you might know if you follow my blog, in December, very sadly, my dad died. I spent nearly three weeks in Norfolk supporting my mum through this difficult time and came back home a couple of days before Christmas. There was a huge pile of cards waiting for me on my return. Obviously there were a lot of Christmas cards but also lots of sympathy cards too.
Today I thought I would just show you just three of the beautiful cards I received. It meant so much to me to know that people had been thinking about me and I will treasure all the cards I received. But of course, as a card maker and paper crafter, the handmade cards were my favourites!

This first card was sent to me from Gez - you will know Gez from our fortnightly Jill & Gez Go Crafting posts. This card is so lovely with such an appropriate sentiment.

Woven Threads Stampin Up

Gez has used the Woven Threads suite of products (pg 12-13 of the Annual catalogue) along with Scripty embossing folder (pg 199 of the Annual catalogue). Isn't that embossed frame gorgeous?

Another friend I have made through Stampin' Up! is Laurie Jennings who is known online as PaperJay crafts. Laurie used the new Peaceful Poppies papers (pg 25 of the new Mini catalogue) to make this pretty card.

And as always, Stampin Up have an appropriate sentiment for the inside of the card.

And lastly, this card is from another very good friend Lesley. I have known Lesley for 25+ years and we first met through our love of papercrafting. And we have very similar tastes in cards, both liking very clean and uncluttered designs. Lesley hasn't used Stampin Up products for her card but has made this lovely card.

Sympathy card

Hope you've liked seeing these cards. Sympathy cards are never easy to make but maybe these will give you some inspiration if you need to make one.
