#37 Card Making for Beginners - #simplestamping SIP card with In Bloom

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my blog today. Thanks so much for popping in to see me. This is the 37th instalment in my Card Making for Beginners course - can you believe it? I will be doing another three instalments to take us to number 40 and then this series will finish. And then I will start a brand new series at the beginning of May to coincide with the launch of the new Annual Catalogue (I can't wait!).

Anyway, onto today's project. We are going right back to basics today with a simple SIP card. Have you heard of a SIP card? The "S" stands for stamps, the "I" for ink and the "P" for paper - so Stamps, ink and paper. So a very easy, real beginner card! Several years ago - three and a bit to be exact - we made this card in one of the very first classes I ran as a Stampin' Up! demo.

All the stampers in the class were complete beginners and we used a set called Blooms and Wishes to stamp our card. If you'd like to read more about it, the original blog post is HERE.

The video for this card was one of the first I made. But it has been one of my most popular. Nearly 14,000 views! You can watch it HERE if you'd like to - or click on the image below:

As the Blooms and Wishes set has long retired, and this card has been so popular, I thought I would try and recreate it with one of our current sets - In Bloom. I'm not sure it worked quite as well. What do you think?

For the first card I tried to replicate the colours I had used on the original card. I then tried a different (more subtle) colour scheme. I like this one better. I also filled in some of the spaces with one of the tiny dotty stamps which improves it as well I think.

Of course, I added a little bit of stamping on the envelope (see above) and inside (see below).

So a very #simplestamping card from me today. Have a look at the video tutorial by CLICKING HERE or on the image below:
